Fhuarain Forest Cottages are family run and cared for by the owners.  Carefully restored and attractively furnished, they offer a wide range of facilities to a high standard of comfort and quality.

Both are bright and spacious inside, providing flexible family accommodation for 5 (or 6) people (+ cot) in 3 bedrooms.   Linen and towels are provided as well as logs and peat for the open fire at Badanfhuarain and the usual domestic supplies.

Free range eggs are usually available from our own hens, and if requested we can bake organic bread for the morning.  

At Badanfhuarain the 'Woodshed Sauna' with its deep heat and relaxing music is available to visitors in both cottages.

Surrounded by broad mountain ranges, Caledonian pine forests, farmlands, rivers and lochs, Nethy Bridge lies in an area of magnificent natural environments on a grand scale, all within the Cairngorms National Park.

With open roads and easy access to out-of-the-way places, this is a perfect base for touring as well as for exploring off the beaten track.  It is a favourite area for walking, bird-watching or simply relaxing.

Having a central highland location we often enjoy winters with alpine temperatures and good skiing conditions either at CairnGorm Mountain with its funicular railway or at the Lecht ski ground, both within 30 minutes drive. Most winters we can ski tour from the door through the Abernethy Forest.

We have low rainfall for an upland area, few midges and comfortable summer temperatures all of which make this area ideal for walking most times of the year. We are spoilt for choice in walking routes, and there's great scope for cyclists on the many miles of local forest tracks.
